The Problem

Our Approach

Trattoria Serafina — Commercial Drive

The Problem

Serafina Colombo owns a 40-seat Italian restaurant with a 24-seat patio on Commercial Drive — one of Vancouver's busiest dining corridors.

She was replacing patio dining sets annually at $6,500 per cycle. The furniture endured heavy daily use from April through October: constant chair movement, spilled wine and olive oil, nightly wipe-downs with commercial degreaser, and exposure to Vancouver's rain during shoulder-season service.

Our Approach

We supplied 6 commercial-grade aluminum-frame outdoor dining sets with phenolic resin tabletops — a high-pressure laminate material that is fully waterproof, scratch-resistant, and impervious to commercial cleaning chemicals including bleach-based sanitizers and industrial degreasers. The aluminum frames are welded (not bolted), then powder-coated in a textured charcoal finish that hides minor scuffs from daily restaurant use.

Jordan Flett coordinated overnight delivery and assembly between midnight and 6 a.m. to avoid disrupting lunch service. His team removed the old furniture, assembled all new pieces, positioned them according to Serafina's table layout, and hauled away all packaging — ready for the 11:30 a.m. opening.

The Problem

Seasons at False Creek — Strata Rooftop

The strata council of Seasons at False Creek — a 112-unit condominium complex — needed to replace degraded developer-installed resin furniture on a 3,200-square-foot rooftop terrace. Cast aluminum is rust-proof, significantly heavier than tubular aluminum (reducing wind displacement), and rated for commercial-grade use in hospitality environments.

Marcus Tran provided a detailed wind-load analysis referencing manufacturer engineering specs and site-specific conditions at the building's rooftop elevation. He recommended weighted bases engineered to hold furniture stable at 80 km/h while preserving the roof membrane — zero penetrations, zero fasteners into the waterproofing layer.
